The year 2011 is almost over and 2012 is knocking at the door :) Well i don't have nothing special to say to you lol because everybody is wishing you guys luck and love and so on already. I just wanted to make it short; happy new year :)

Kazakh valley in Turkey

When i was on vacation in Turkey i visited a "Kazakh valley" with a restaurant and horses to ride in Izmir called "Kazak/Kimiz Vadisi". I ate "manti" there and i liked it. The location of the valley is also very nice. The summer was very hot in Turkey but in the "Kazak valley" you always had a fresh breeze and it was not that hot there.
Back in Germany i bought a steam cook pot which i got from an asia shop. Today was my first try to make the "mantis" by myself and i have to tell you that they were not bad :)

Today i want to show you a Kazakh song which is called kara jorga. Kara jorga is normally a traditional Kazakh song but this is a reaggeton/ bubble version and the group's name is Wise so enjoy.

Rescue mission

Some weeks ago i rescued a blackbird hatchling which fell from it's nest... My mother and me put it in a box and brought it to our home. I searched for a vet on the internet and called them. The lady on the phone said that it's normal that the hatchlings fall from the nests these days.

I know where the nest is it's in the balcony of a neighbor who is on holidays... So i taped the box where the hatchling was near to the original nest. I was afraid that the parents won't accept it but we hadn't touched it. I watched the parents and the hatchling for many hours and i was so happy when the male blackbird began to feed the young. On the next day the box was empty... But i could find him between some bushes and it was more agile then the day before :) On the same day my mother and me went to a pet shop where we bought mealworms. We put the mealworms in a little bowl in our garden and we watched how the parents came and collected the mealworms in their beaks. It was fun to watch the parents how they feed their chicks. I have also seen some of them flying across the garden some days ago :)

But let's come to our song. I want to show you a funky song from Turkey the singer's name is Bora Uzer and the name of the song is "Fırıl Fırıl Aşk" which means something like "love is boiling from everyhwere".

YES :) Azerbaijan has won the Eurovision song contest 2011. Congratulations! I was also happy when the singer Nelli (Nigar) came to the stage with the Turkish flag in her hand. Double win :D I hope i can visit Azerbaijan one day especially the capitol city Baku. But back to topic :) today's song is called "Çix get" which means something like "go away" or "leave me" the singers are Elli and Xose.

Kazakhstan is one of the biggest countries in the world and i will definitely visit this beautiful and interesting country one day. I would like to ride a horse on the Kazakh steppes, visit some museums, eat the traditional food, talk to the people, buy many souvenirs and make many pictures. But i know that there are Kazakh villages in Turkey and also many other villages from people of central Asia. I hope i can visit one of those villages in Turkey this summer... Some days ago i was in an asia shop... i was the only "foreigner" there. All the other customers were east asian and you could hear the conversations in their native language. I felt myself very "lonely". Well there are many interesting things and i'm also interested in (east) asian cuisine. So i was looking around in the shop for unknown but interesting things and later i noticed that a lady was behind me all the time and it seemed like she was spying on me? Maybe she was an employee there and her job was to check if i steal something... Or i just imagined it...

But back to topic :) today's song is from Kyrgyzstan the singer's Name is Arsen and the song's name is "elesing senin" which means "image of you ".

On Saturday a friend called and asked me if we should go jogging because the sun is shining and the weather looks good. I said ok and when we met and started with jogging we also talked with each other but that was not easy because jogging and talking at the same time is not a good idea :D anyway, after the "hard work" we saw a fast food restaurant... We looked at each other and said

All Europe is under a snow carpet. When the first snow came to my hometown (Cologne), it was still warm in Turkey :) but the snow is melt because it is raining almost everyday. According to the Turkish news the cold and snowy weather has reached Turkey. I personally don't like the winter... it's cold and windy and the days are shorter, it is getting dark at 5 pm. Thats why i wanted to add a "warm" song which melts the snow away :) Here is an Uzbek song sung by Kaniza with the title "jonim sen" which means something like "my soul/life you..." the song sounds like a bollywood song because it has many indian music elements.

When i was a child and we had history lessons my teacher never talked about the Turks.

I asked myself "who are we?"

During my school time she talked about the ancient greeks, the romans, the french revolution, the russian empire, the 2nd world war and other christian and western nations/events. She mentioned the Turks 1 or 2 times but only about their losses when they had war.

My father once told me about the Uygurs (he called them Turks in China), since then i started to search for turkish history. Now i know a lot about my ancestors and my other turkic relatives who live in an area from the Balkans till Siberia.

I think everybody should know more or less their nations history because if you know your past you will never be assimilated.

The reason why i have opened this blog

Selamunaleykum, privet, merhaba, hallo and hi :)

first of all let me introduce myself, my name is Eren i was born in Germany and i still do live there. The reason why i opened this blog is because i love music from central Asia especially from Uzbekistan. I remember when i was in Turkey many years ago (as a kid) i heard a song on tv it sounded almost like turkish but it wasn't. I never forgot the name of the singer and the song's name. Some years later we had internet at home (do you remember the old 56k modems and how slow the connection was?) i started to search for her. I found an Uzbek forum site arbuz.com where i had the chance to listen to the song after some years again. I also started to learn uzbek with the help of some of the forum members and with other uzbek songs.

In my next post i will write the reason why i'm interested in Turkology.

btw the song's name which i was searching was "dunya" and the singer's name is "Yulduz Usmanova"
